Video Game World Championship

Video Game World Championship

October 10 and 11 will see the first Watercraft Video Game World Championships held at the real life Watercraft World Championships in Lake Havasu City, Arizona.

The International Jet Sports Boating Association (IJSBA) is expanding into the emerging eSports industry by being the first sanctioning body to govern and oversee the digital representation of their sport. Gamers will compete, side by side, at the same venue as the actual professional jetskiers with the same trophies being awarded to groups of competitors. This is the first ever video game world championship of this type and the 34th consecutive watercraft world finals. Gamers will play Riptide: GP2 while on-the-water racers will compete aboard industry watercraft exceeding speeds of 90 MPH. Riptide: GP2 features the gaming industry’s most realistic water physics and will be the platform for a future IJSBA branded game.

Both world championships take place at Crazy Horse Campground and Resort which has been transformed into a temporary marine stadium environment just for this event. Also taking place are an off road expo, a watercraft tradeshow, and an Aqualife Festival which features the latest water recreation technologies as well as blowout prices on name brand wakeboards, wetsuits, and beach apparel from companies like Body Glove, Ronix, and Oakley Sunglasses. Some watercraft test rides will be available and all new 2016 models will be on display.
